OVERWHELMING RESPONSE LEADING TO MULTI CRORES STRATEGIC ALLIANCES, JOINT VENTURES, BUSINESS TIE-UPS at INDIASOFT 2012- 21st to 23rd March 2012, HYDERABAD

With an objective to give a visible momentum to enhancing IT & ITES exports from the country and to assist Indian IT industry particularly the SMEs, the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) organize an international IT event across various IT hubs of the country since 2001 popularly called INDIASOFT - comprising of International IT Exhibition & Conferences.

The main focus of INDIASOFT events has been to enhance the opportunities for Indian Software companies in emerging and established IT markets across the world. Through this initiative, ESC has helped Indian IT enterprises in aligning their competencies with international IT environment both in terms of demand as well as delivery competencies. Till now, ESC has organized 12 editions under its exposition brand - INDIASOFT with overwhelming success.

INDIAN IT INDUSTRY - REACHING OUT GLOBALLY has been the driving force of ESC enterprise level efforts. To assist Indian IT companies build a strong global foothold in 2012, ESC organized an INDIA SHOW for the second time, the 12th edition of INDIASOFT series during 21st to 23rd March 2012 at Hyderabad which was sponsored by MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

Shri Ponala Lakshmaiah, Hon’ble Minister for IT & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the event in the presence of Ms Anabel Gonzales, Hon’ble Foreign Trade Minister, Republic of Costa Rica and Mr Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum,Hon’ble Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Mauritius, who were the GUESTS OF HONOUR.

The event was graced by some eminent speakers both from Government of India and industry including Shri J Sathyanarayana, Secretary, Department of IT, Ministry of Communications & IT, Govt. of India, Shri J K Dadoo, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India

The Conferences were graced by international speakers from USA, Germany, Belgium, Mauritius, Australia and Panama apart from India. It presented an opportunity to discuss various issues confronting IT industry in contemporary economically volatile global business environment. The exhaustive presentations and the invaluable expertise of the high profile speakers created a pro-active and educational forum of discussion and debate.

During the exhibition INDIASOFT – 2012, 56 participating Indian companies capitalized on the opportunity to launch innovative technology, products & services.

ESC has been playing a catalytic role in development of Indian ICT industry. The information dissemination process at ESC has updated entrepreneurs, technocrats and policy makers with latest global trends in ICT industry. In the series of such initiatives, annually, ESC brings out a detailed compendium about the performance of various verticals through it’s Statistical Year Book highlighting insight into the fastest growing segments of Indian industry both in terms of production and exports.

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for participants to make contacts, showcase technologies, products, and services in IT sector, identify initiatives and forge future collaborations and partnerships. The major thrust of the exhibition was to foster the commercialization of new and emerging technologies by creating strategic alliances between Indian and the global IT buyers. Exhibitors were satisfied by the visitor response, which included decision-makers from industry, Ministries, Governmental agencies, entrepreneurs, educational institutions and academia etc.

138 Indian exhibitors showcased their expertise and innovations in several sectors of IT & ITES. Most of such exhibitors made useful business tie-ups / alliances with buyers from abroad. Several MOUs were signed and various companies found able Channel Partners and several letters of intent were inked.

With special focus on SMEs, INDIASOFT 2012 provided an immense visibility to the companies and overseas participants to interact with each other for business development and for establishing strategic alliances including joint ventures, collaborations, marketing and distribution tie –ups. Overall both the exhibitors and software buyers from global markets have expressed high satisfaction by participating at INDIASOFT 2012.

Being an outsourcing mega event and a business-to-business (B2B) partnering forum, INDIASOFT 2012 attracted around 400 foreign delegates from 66 countries. Business delegations across the world included from Latin America, Africa, CIS , ASEAN, North America, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Middle East, SAARC and EU countries. The presence of such a large number of delegates across the world at INDIASOFT 2012 event shows that they have unfathomable outsourcing opportunities for Indian software companies.

It is learnt, that the exhibitors generated around 2500 business queries, which will surely materialize in developing business alliances in near future. Several business deals, MOUs, were also signed at the spot. In the near future, it is expected that the MOUs, agreements, etc will lead to generating more business.

The Council’s objective by arranging INDIASOFT 2012 was to bring together business delegations from across the global markets, who are looking for IT outsourcing from Indian software companies. The event provided an opportunity to interact with business delegates across the world, which is the most unique benefit.
